Patricia Okwueze is a 2023 Episcopal High School of Alexandria, Virginia graduate.
She has spent the past four years in Alexandria, Virginia cultivating her leadership skills. During her time at the Virginian boarding school, she cultivated her leadership skills, and she served in multiple roles in the community, such as the Chair of the Discipline Committee, Co-President of the Black Student Association, President of the Embody Love Movement Club, Dorm Monitor, EHS Ambassador, Writing Center Tutor, and member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Always eager to involve herself in the spaces she occupies, Patricia also spent her time at Episcopal on the indoor rock climbing and softball teams. She has taken a particular interest in poetry, pursuing an independent study during her last months on campus to publish and perform some of her work.
The next steps of her journey take her to Duke University as a QuestBridge Scholar. Planning to enroll as a Public Policy Major at Sanford School, she hopes to continue her work creating spaces for people to communicate change in their local communities to ensure educational, infrastructure, and economic equity to areas most deserving.
